SYNOPSIS: The core of
Tae-il's life is Il-mae. From the very start, he has fallen
head over heels in love with her and has done everything in
her favor. He held on her dad's promise that if he fixes his
life, he'll give his blessings as long as he wouldn't touch
her until then. But he became overprotected of her. He always
sabotages her dates while he tries to keep his promise. As
he makes his way up, he didn't pay much attention to her to
resist temptation.
The day of the fulfillment came. Tae-il passed the bar exams
and as agreed, Young-dal gave him the permission to be with
his daughter. But it's already too late. Il-mae is seeing
somebody and is about to get married to her playboy colleague.
Tae-il was so devastated when he found out. He felt like his
whole life became useless for something that he wouldn't even
have in the end.
But the truth is Il-mae has learned to love Tae-il but has
her reasons for deciding not to marry him.
REVIEWS: How I wish I
could find somebody who would love me the way Tae-il loves
Il-mae - well, minus the obsession.
This is the first time I saw a slapstick-type Korean movie.
I kinda like it because it's different from what I usually
see. I witnessed the other side of Son Ye-jin although you
don't see her much in the movie. Such a versatile actress.
Behind the comedy, there is a deeper message in the story.
With such determination, you'd conquer your dreams. But you
shouldn't also expect too much so you won't get disappointed
if things doesn't go your way.
I liked the theme transition - from comedy to drama. You'll
get to love all the character and once you understand the
reason behind their decisions, you'll admire their cleverness
and strength.
